As many of you may know, I, Christopher Snyder, am the webmaster of thepeppermint.com. My father owns The Peppermint and my grandfather was Bob Snyder Sr.

Pap and I worked on many projects over the years and fixed numerous things together. The Great Chowder challenge honors my grandfather who died in October of 1999 from cancer. I am very proud of what The Peppermint has accomplished with this event in support of cancer research! Thank You for your support!

Sincerely,

Christopher Snyder

Here is a letter from Robert Snyder:

Dear Friend

On October 18th, 2003 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM we will hold the Fourth Annual Bob Snyder Sr. American Cancer Society "Chowder Challenge" at The Peppermint Ristorante and Music Club 700 Market Street, Sunbury.

If you have participated before, you already know what a positive and fun event this is. If you have never attended this uplifting afternoon, please join us!

Restaurants and individuals are asked to enter any type of chowder they can think of. Our panel of judges will award many trophies in both Restaurant and Individual categories. Your entrance fee of $5.00 will help defray costs for the event with all entrants receiving a special Tee Shirt.

We also need your participation by donating prizes for our auction. To date we have raised $7,315.00 for cancer research and The Peppermint has donated over $1500.00 in services. Last year more than 30 sponsors donated over 50 items for our auction. Our goal this year is to exceed the $10,000.00 mark in our four years of helping to fight cancer.

If you cannot attend, please consider mailing us a donation for this event to help us achieve our goal. Every contribution makes a difference!

Please join my Family and Friends for this afternoon of great Chowders, Music and Auction to help beat cancer in our lifetime.

Musical Entertainment Provided By "The Trancendants".

Sincerely,

Robert A. Snyder, Jr.
